Six years ago, we declared our aspiration to become the world’s most trusted security company offering cyber resilience solutions differentiated by our unique Persistence platform embedded in the firmware of over 600 million devices. Since that time, we have more than doubled the value of Absolute Security, broadened our offerings, grown our customer base significantly, and maintained a robust profitable growth model. I feel fortunate to work with this incredible team.
Today marks the next step in this journey as we announce the acquisition of Syxsense, a recognized innovator in automated endpoint, vulnerability, and patch management solutions. Founded in 2012, Syxsense is recognized as a leader in Unified Endpoint Management (UEM) by analyst firm GigaOm and noted for its Unified Endpoint Security (UES) innovation by other leading analyst firms. This is a huge and important step for us, as it allows us to provide a more comprehensive stack of cyber resilience capabilities and opens a new chapter in the Absolute Security and next generation cyber resilience story.
Our trusted customers and partners know us as the company with firmware embedded Persistences, providing always on business capabilities with critical and truly resilient remote security and compliance. These include endpoint security, visibility, control, connectivity, recovery, and resilience for applications and security controls. We realize though, that the world is constantly changing. This is why we continually advance our solutions to help you stay ahead of threats, complexities, and disruptions.
Our mission is to help our customers extend cyber resilience across their global enterprises. By adding Syxsense, we can now offer customers access to remote, automated, and resilient endpoint and vulnerability management, patching, and remediation that ensures defense against threats, misconfigurations, and faulty updates.
With Syxsense backed by our hardware-embedded resilience, customers can ensure their endpoints and security controls are fully patched, protected, compliant, and always operational. To achieve maximum cyber resilience, organizations need the ability to identify and address security and risk gaps before they cause disruptions—Syxsense will help customers to achieve this goal.
Over the past decade, cybersecurity spending has grown exponentially, to a point where organizations are spending hundreds of billions annually to remain compliant and protected. Despite this spike in security investment, bad actors, cyber threats, malicious insiders, and legal and technical complexity continue to drive massive disruption and losses. By some accounts, these costs are entering the trillion-dollar-plus range.
At Absolute Security, we have long been focused on leveraging our one-of-a-kind position in the hardware to enable and secure the massive remote and hybrid workforces that are the lifeblood of businesses. We have mostly solved the problem of endpoint and network connectivity, security, and resilience. Still, we remain focused on the reality that in the changing digital ecosystem and threat environment, new challenges and threats will always arise.
What we’ve learned along the way is that cybersecurity on its own is no longer enough to keep organizations operational and protected. To thrive in today’s world, organizations need to make cyber resilience their top priority.
With the addition of Syxsense, we will deliver all the essential pillars of an effective cyber resilience stack. These include endpoint visibility and control, compliance and risk management, secure access, remote recovery, application resilience, and now automated endpoint vulnerability, patch, and remediation management. All available via a single, consolidated platform.
In our annual Cyber Resilience Risk Index, we analyzed telemetry from millions of PCs. Many shocking findings were revealed. Several caused us to lean more deeply into the decision to acquire Syxsense.
We found that leading endpoint security controls spanning EPP, XDR, VPN, and ZTNA failed to maintain compliance with internal security policies 24 percent of the time, with EPP not even present on 14 percent of endpoints. We also uncovered in the data that vulnerability patching across many industries using Windows 10 and 11 was delayed an average of 60 days. This essential security practice is clearly not keeping pace with threats and complexity. Although these results may seem shocking, and they are, the “why” is no mystery – threats, complexity, and a lack of resilience are leaving gaps that only Cyber Resilience can close.
Syxsense is noted for several unique and critical capabilities. These include top ratings for automated, risk-based patching and vulnerability remediation, reporting, AI-supported predictive analytics, and overall lifecycle management. By integrating Syxsense and these key capabilities into a single, comprehensive platform supported by hardware-embedded resilience, customers benefit from knowing their endpoint, vulnerability, and patch management solution is working as expected to deliver needed updates and patches to important endpoint applications and security controls. With the ability to develop and apply temporary remediation before official patches are issued, customers know they are reducing risk to the lowest possible level.
The acquisition is complete. Syxsense will continue to support its customers as an Absolute Security Company.
As we continue to innovate and deliver further on our mission to provide Next Generation Cyber Resilience for the always-on enterprise, we will be excited to share our new roadmap and ongoing integration plans.
For now, it is business as usual. We greatly value the continued unwavering support and loyalty of our customers and partners and want to thank you for being an essential part of our success.
