The security landscape is an interesting paradox. While it feels like its constantly evolving and new startups are continually innovating creative new ideas and solutions, the problems we are purporting to solve for companies are fundamentally the same ones from decades ago. Basic device hygiene and asset lifecycle management remain two of the most complex yet simple sounding processes within corporate IT. Software managed in the software layer is simply prone to fail, inevitably.
I’ve been in cybersecurity my entire life, starting from the age of 14, and its constantly fascinated me in various ways. I’ve had the opportunity to work at some of the most well-known and highly regarded security software companies whose tools help secure global enterprises down to local small businesses. But all of them were subject to failure in meeting their stated objective simply because they are software running on devices and subject to an array of potential faults within the environment they operate. If only there was a way to break out of the ‘bubble’ that confines every software application used today!
Earlier this year I began a discussion with the executive team at Absolute about their company and its purpose and mission. This wasn’t the first time I had heard of Absolute, but it had been over a decade since I had worked with their technology. I quickly realized that the evolution of the Track and Trace capability I had leveraged in a security architecture for my clients years ago had dramatically ‘grown up’. Absolute has taken its singular uniqueness and created a new paradigm for customers across the spectrum. They had broken the barrier everyone else is stuck living within: hardware delivered resilience.
Today, Absolute is the only provider of self-healing, intelligent security solutions. Absolute Persistence™ delivers unique, patented technology embedded in the firmware of over 600 million devices that provides a secure, unbreakable, and always-on connection between Absolute’s platform and the endpoint. The Absolute Platform utilizes Application Resilience™ and Network Resilience - two types of patented resilience technology to ensure that mission-critical applications remain healthy, compliant, and operational and to provide users with the most productive and optimized remote access experience possible.
The company’s vision is to be the most trusted security provider – not because other providers are not trustworthy, but because we are rooted in trust (the BIOS) and provide the only self-healing, intelligent security solutions enterprises require today to ensure a cyber resilience architecture.
I’m thrilled to be a part of the team here at Absolute and welcome every opportunity to show you what’s been sleeping underneath your fingers all these years in your enterprise endpoints!
