The Absolute Secure Endpoint 9.1 release helps IT and security teams:
Identify files containing sensitive data on individual devices seamlessly through enhancements to Endpoint Data Discovery.
Customize scheduling of reports by selecting the specific date and time of when the reports should be delivered.
Identify changes to License Management, Policy Groups or the status of Theft Reports through the addition of new events available through Event History.
Better manage APIs by enabling System Administrators to have wider permissions to access and edit all tokens in their account.
What's New?
Endpoint Data Discovery Enhancements:
The Endpoint Data Discovery (EDD) feature has been upgraded, making it is easier for Absolute users to identify and view sensitive files residing on individual devices. The enhancements include a more modern looking EDD Summary Page under Device Details, improving usability, customization, filtering and the ability to export or save the page as a report for future use. In addition, the mechanism of how special characters are handled in the calculation of EDD Match Scores has been revised. The enhancements include the following:
- Enhanced EDD Summary Page (under Device Details) with improved usability including:
- Adding or removing columns
- Filtering data by Match Score and EDD rules
- Saving the page as a report
- Exporting the page
- Revised handling of special characters in the calculation of Match Scores.

Customization of Scheduled Reports:
Absolute users can now select a particular time to receive a scheduled report that aligns with their preferences or their IT or Security team’s policies. Scheduled reports can be customized to be delivered either daily, weekly or monthly at a particular time of your choosing for better flexibility.

New Events available through Event History:
The following new Events are now available through the Event History page, allowing Absolute users to keep track of and be alerted to changes related to License Management, Policy Groups or the status of Theft Reports.
- Agent status updated
- License updated on device
- License assignment settings updated
- Policy group created
- Policy group updated
- Policy group deleted
- Device added to policy group
- Purchase order added
- Purchase order updated
- Purchase order expired
- Theft report closed
- Theft report reopened

Granular API Management for System Administrators:
Users assigned to the System Administrator role now have permissions to view, edit and delete all tokens in their account, regardless of whether the tokens were initially created by them or other users. This ensures better security as it reduces the risk of unauthorized API access and enables System Administrators to better troubleshoot issues by tracing them back to specific tokens created by other users. In addition, it helps System Administrators maintain continuity when other users leave the organization.
