Absolute Security United Kingdom Cyber Resilience Report

Modern business operates in an increasingly complex and dangerous world. It’s no wonder why cyber security remains at the top of boardroom agendas, the minds of Chief Information Security Officers (CISOs), and other security and risk leaders. From FTSE 100 listed companies to ambitious startups, no organisation is immune to the growing volumes of increasingly sophisticated attacks.

With British businesses facing a new wave of hostile security threats, Absolute partnered with Censuswide to poll 250 CISOs based in the United Kingdom (UK) to understand the primary challenges they face along with their levels of preparedness to defend their organisations against advanced threats.

Key Highlights

  • 97% of CISOs have a dedicated cyber resilience strategy in place, along with a well-defined incident response protocol.
  • 94% of CISOs update their cyber resilience strategy more than once a year.
  • 45% of CISOs claimed they have had cybersecurity budget slashed due to economic uncertainty over the past year.
  • 89% of CISOs feel that mitigating financial loss is the biggest driver behind improving cyber resilience.
  • Flexible working remains a serious challenge, with 72% claiming remote working has complicated their organisation’s cyber resilience posture.
  • 35% of CISOs admitted to ignoring the National Cyber Security Centre’s (NCSC’s) cyber guidance.

The report reveals what UK CISOs are up against, where their obstacles are, and steps they are taking to ensure a cyber resilient future for their businesses.
