Internet Initiative Japan Expands Partnership with Absolute Security to Launch New Cyber Resilience Service

September 26, 2024

Expanded partnership demonstrates growing global demand for cyber resilience solutions to reduce business disruptions in APAC region

SEATTLEAbsolute Security, a global leader in enterprise cyber resilience, today announced that the company has expanded its MSP relationship with Internet Initiative Japan Inc. (IIJ), one of Japan's leading Internet access and comprehensive network solutions providers. According to the newly signed agreement, IIJ will license Absolute Secure Endpoint to launch “IIJ Flex Resilience Service,” a new cloud-based device management service designed to prevent information leaks due to lost or stolen PCs.

IIJ is the first Absolute Security partner in Japan to launch a managed security service using Absolute Secure Endpoint. IIJ, an existing strategic OEM partner for Absolute Security, first licensed Absolute Secure Access in 2022 to launch IIJ Flex Mobility Service/ZTNA, a remote secure access service offering that helps organizations to meet Zero Trust requirements. Today this service protects more than 200,000 devices.

In addition to remote PC locking and powerful data erase, IIJ Flex Resilience Service provides visualization of IT asset status and automatic restoration of security software to reduce the risk of information leaks in the event of PC loss, theft or unauthorized removal, and to improve recovery of IT assets to a protected state. This service can remotely lock PCs in the event of an accident and prevent malicious data recovery using recovery software through powerful data erasure.

“As we shared in our recent 2024 Absolute Cyber Risk Index Report, PC endpoint protection Platforms and network access security applications fail to operate effectively 24 percent of the time. Add this to insider threats and other potential cyberthreats, organizations are facing significantly increased risk of business disruptions or IP loss,” said Andy Ward, Senior Vice President, International, Absolute Security. “The need for cyber resilience solutions has never been greater. We are excited to expand our partnership with IIJ to deliver cyber resilience at the endpoint for our joint customers in Japan.”

“Cyber resilience is one of the top business concerns in Japan and beyond. As a leader in enterprise cyber resilience, Absolute Security is a proven partner in helping organizations ensure their remote employees stay secure. Based on our success with IIJ Flex Mobility Service/ZTNA based on Absolute Secure Access, we were excited to expand the partnership to now include the Absolute Secure Endpoint. Absolute and IIJ are well-positioned to grow the Secure Endpoint business together with their existing customers as well as identify and onboard new prospects,” said Hajime Shironouchi, Managing Executive Officer at IIJ.
